Procedures for opening and closing the Belmore Ski Club lodge outside the snow season.

Out of Season Arrival Procedure

Turn On Water

Check status of water by turning a cold tap on (it should be turned off). If there is no water pressure, go to the first bathroom downstairs and behind the toilet:

  • Turn the top tap (draining tap) clockwise until you can't turn it anymore — it is fully closed
  • Turn the bottom tap (supply tap) anti-clockwise until you can't turn it anymore — it is fully open

Turn On Heating & Hot Water

Go to the plant room (upstairs in Room 5, Mezzanine):

  1. Turn both boilers ON by pressing their power button
  2. Switch the heating thermostat ON and turn the dial to 28 degrees
  3. Turn the dial clockwise on the hot water thermostat from the OFF position (below 15) to approximately 70 degrees

  • LHS Boiler (Master) — On/Off button and set temperature dial
  • RHS Boiler (Boiler 2) — On/Off switch and set temperature dial
  • Heating Thermostat — Located on the wall next to Boiler 2
  • Hot Water Thermostat — Located behind the hot water tank

Out of Season Departing Procedures

General Departure Checklist

  • Bed linen is to be washed and beds made up
  • Turn off fridges and leave doors slightly open
  • Remove water from dishwasher, turn it off and leave door slightly open
  • Leave all bedroom doors open
  • Leave the window in Room 5 (Mezzanine upstairs) slightly open
  • In Room 1 (downstairs): pull the fly screen behind the glass door closed and leave the glass door slightly open — there is a latch at the bottom to still lock the door

Turn Off Water

Go to the first bathroom downstairs and behind the toilet:

  • Turn the top tap (draining tap) anti-clockwise until you can't turn it anymore — it is fully open (lets water drain)
  • Turn the bottom tap (supply tap) clockwise until you can't turn it anymore — it is fully closed (turns cold water flow off)

Turn Off Heating & Hot Water

Go to the plant room (upstairs in Room 5, Mezzanine):

  1. Turn both boilers OFF by pressing their ON/OFF buttons
  2. Switch the heating thermostat OFF
  3. Turn the dial down (anti-clockwise) on the hot water thermostat to the OFF position (below 15)
